About this category

Aircraft lamps for cockpit, instrument, cabin and equipment lighting are grouped here by their exact catalogue designation. The range includes SM, SMZ, SMN, SMK and KGSM families with different voltage, power, base and execution data. A familiar bulb shape or a nearby number is not sufficient for selection because similar-looking lamps can be intended for different holders and electrical circuits.

SM, SMZ, SMN, SMK and KGSM lamp families

Each designation in the catalogue is treated as a separate product record. Family letters, voltage and power figures, base references and execution suffixes must be retained when comparing positions. For example, SM and SMZ variants that share a nominal voltage can still differ in power or connection, while SMN, SMK and KGSM positions follow their own recorded markings. A neighbouring item is therefore shown for navigation, not as an automatic substitute.

Voltage, power and base must match the installation

Start with the complete marking on the removed lamp and compare it with the aircraft parts catalogue or the documentation for the installed light, panel or instrument. Selection may require rated voltage, power, base type, contact arrangement, envelope and installation function. Use only values documented for the exact designation.

  • copy the full lamp marking, including every suffix;
  • state the documented voltage and power;
  • photograph the base, contacts and glass envelope;
  • identify the instrument or lighting unit when known;
  • add quantity and document requirements.
