Electrical and light-output characteristics

The rated operating point is 24 V at 90 mA. Published reference data give a luminous flux of 9 lm and a service-life figure of 3500 hours. This is the higher-current 24 V execution; it must not be confused with lower-current T6.8 lamps of the same voltage. The lamp may be used in compatible AC or DC indication circuits when the equipment documentation specifies this type. Operating it above the rated voltage increases filament temperature and can shorten service life, while undervoltage reduces light output.

T6.8 construction and installation

The lamp uses a narrow transparent tubular envelope approximately 6.6 mm in diameter and has an overall length of about 46 mm. Its T6.8 slide base uses two brass contact plates and an insulating tip. It requires a matching holder and must not be replaced by a screw, bayonet or superficially similar slide-base lamp without checking the contacts. The glass envelope and contacts require careful handling.

Selection and compatibility

Select the lamp by the complete marking, rated voltage, current, base and dimensions. Lamps in the KM family share a similar appearance but operate at different electrical ratings. A voltage match alone is insufficient because the current and light output can differ. Inspection and ordering

Before installation, inspect the glass, filament supports, brass contacts and insulating tip. The lamp must seat in the holder without force. An enquiry should state the exact designation KM 24-90, quantity, equipment or holder type and document requirements. If the marking is unclear, include a photograph of the lamp and package.
