About this category
LFL and LFSM aircraft lamp-lights are catalogued as complete sealed light-source assemblies for compatible aircraft lighting equipment. This section contains LFL-26, LFL-27 and LFL-28 positions together with the recorded LFSM execution. The full number matters: versions within one family can differ in rated voltage, power, optical execution or connection and must not be selected from appearance alone.
LFL and LFSM positions remain separate products
Every combination of letters, numbers and suffixes identifies its own catalogue record. LFL variants with different power figures or an additional execution index are kept on separate pages, as is LFSM 27-450-5. A nearby designation can help locate the correct family, but it does not establish interchangeability or approval for a particular aircraft installation.
The electrical and installation execution must agree
Compare the marking on the removed lamp-light with the aircraft parts catalogue, maintenance data and the documentation for the installed light assembly. Selection may involve rated voltage, power, terminal arrangement, mounting geometry, optical function and the complete execution suffix. Only the values recorded for the exact product should be used.
- record the complete LFL or LFSM designation;
- retain all suffixes and secondary power figures;
- state the documented voltage and installation position;
- provide photographs of the front, rear and terminals;
- add quantity and document requirements.
