- Description
Relays and contactors are electromechanical switching devices used in aircraft electrical systems for circuit control, power distribution, protection and automation. In helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, these components switch electrical loads, connect or disconnect equipment, support control logic and help protect onboard systems from overloads or incorrect operating modes.
This category includes aircraft relays, time-delay relays, low-current signal relays, power contactors, electromagnetic contactors, switching units and related electrical control components. Low-current relays are normally used for signal switching, logic circuits, indication systems and precision control tasks, while contactors are applied where higher current loads must be switched reliably, including main power lines, engine start circuits, lighting networks, auxiliary consumers and power distribution panels.
Relays and contactors may be used on Mi-8, Mi-17, Mi-171, Mi-24, Mi-26, Ka-32 helicopters, as well as An-series aircraft, IL-series aircraft, L-410 and other Soviet or Russian-designed aviation platforms. Depending on the aircraft system, these devices may operate in avionics circuits, generator control systems, starter circuits, cockpit panels, emergency power networks, warning systems and service equipment.
In maintenance practice, relays and contactors are selected by aircraft part number, rated voltage, current capacity, contact configuration, coil voltage, timing function, mounting type, connector layout and system application. Two devices with similar external dimensions may differ by contact group, switching logic, delay time, load rating or approved installation, so replacement is normally checked against technical documentation or the installed unit.
These components work under vibration, temperature changes, electrical load variation, repeated switching cycles and long-duty aircraft operation. Contact condition, coil integrity, arc resistance and stable switching behavior are important factors during troubleshooting and replacement.
Depending on the specific item and customer requirement, aircraft relays and contactors may be supplied in factory new, serviceable, storage-preserved or overhauled condition. For selected positions, technical passports, certificates of conformity, release documents, origin records or available traceability information may be provided upon request.
Aviamisto supplies aircraft relays, aviation contactors, time relays, switching units and related electrical components for MRO organizations, repair facilities, fleet operators and aviation parts suppliers. Some standard positions may be available from UAE or EU stock locations, while less common switching devices are sourced upon request according to aircraft type, part number, electrical parameters and technical documentation.
