The A-034-4-17 is a pointer-type altitude indicator used in the A-037 radio altimeter system. The instrument displays true aircraft height above the ground surface in the low-altitude range. This layout makes the instrument easier to read in the most critical low-altitude zone while still giving the pilot a full 300-meter radio-height indication.
