EP-528T Series 2 is an aircraft amplifier-converter unit used in automatic temperature control systems of aircraft air-conditioning systems. The unit receives electrical signals from temperature sensors and setting devices, amplifies and converts these signals, and generates control commands for actuators and air-conditioning valves. It is used as part of temperature regulators installed on civil and transport aircraft, where stable cabin, cockpit or cargo compartment temperature control is required. The unit belongs to aircraft technical equipment and operates as an electromechanical / electronic control block in the environmental control system.
The EP-528T Series 2 processes input signals from temperature sensors and temperature setting units. Typical associated components may include P-109 temperature sensors and RR-53-4T setting devices, depending on the regulator configuration. The unit compares the received signal with the selected temperature setting and forms an output command for the air-conditioning control system. These commands are then sent to actuators, dampers or valves that regulate airflow and temperature. In this role, EP-528T Series 2 works as the control and signal-conversion element inside an automatic temperature regulation loop.
The EP-528T Series 2 is used in temperature regulators such as RTA-36-27T, RTA-36-30T and RTA-36-9T. These regulators operate in aircraft air-conditioning and pressurization-related systems, where different temperature control channels may be required for cockpit, cabin, cargo compartment or air supply circuits. The amplifier-converter unit supports automatic regulation by converting sensor and selector signals into commands for system actuators. Depending on the aircraft, several EP-528T Series 2 units may be installed in different technical compartments, each serving a separate temperature control circuit.
EP-528T Series 2 is used on aircraft including Il-76, Il-86 and Il-96-300, depending on system configuration and documentation. On Il-76 aircraft, EP-528T Series 2 units may be installed in groups in technical compartments and equipment racks. Some units work in air bleed and cooling control circuits, others operate in cold air duct or smooth pressurization and air-conditioning circuits, and another unit may support automatic temperature control in the occupied cargo compartment area. Exact quantity and location depend on aircraft modification and installed air-conditioning system.
The EP-528T Series 2 is installed as a closed control unit in aircraft technical areas, usually on electrical or radio equipment racks. On Il-76 examples, blocks are referenced in the fifth technical compartment near frame 68, in the first technical compartment near frame 14, and on the cargo compartment ceiling around frames 4–5. The units are installed in vibration-protected mounting frames or shock-absorbing supports to protect them from aircraft vibration. Installation, wiring and connector assignment must be carried out according to the aircraft maintenance documentation and wiring diagrams.
The unit may be referenced as EP-528T Series 2, EP-528T Ser. 2, ЭП-528Т серия 2 or ЭП-528Т сер. 2. When ordering, it is important to specify the series because aircraft control units may have different versions and applicability. For correct supply, the customer should confirm the aircraft type, regulator type, required condition, connector configuration, documentation availability and whether the unit is needed for operational replacement, repair stock or bench testing. Since the block works in automatic temperature control circuits, acceptance should include external condition, documentation and electrical test status where required.
