Description

DV-302T electric fan for cockpit and equipment airflow

The DV-302T is an aircraft DC electric fan used to create local air circulation inside aircraft and helicopter compartments. It is mainly applied where a directed airflow is needed for crew comfort, cockpit ventilation, or cooling of onboard equipment. The fan is compact, electrically driven, and intended for continuous operation from the aircraft DC power supply. In service, it is usually treated as a simple but practical unit: it moves air where natural ventilation is not enough or where equipment needs a constant airflow during operation.

Crew airflow function of the DV-302T

In the cockpit, the DV-302T can be used for local airflow toward crew stations. This improves air movement around pilots or operators, especially when the cockpit is warm, poorly ventilated, or loaded with heat from avionics and electrical equipment. The fan does not replace the aircraft ventilation or air-conditioning system, but it helps create a directed stream of air in a specific zone. For crew use, stable rotation, low current consumption, and reliable continuous operation are more important than complex control functions.

DV-302T for cooling onboard equipment

Apart from crew airflow, the DV-302T may be used for cooling aircraft equipment. Many avionics, control units, and electrical blocks generate heat during operation, and local airflow helps remove this heat from the equipment area. In such applications, the fan is usually installed near the equipment that requires ventilation. A weak fan, worn motor, damaged impeller, or poor electrical contact can lead to reduced airflow, even if the unit still rotates. For this reason, inspection should include both electrical operation and actual air delivery.

Construction of the DV-302T fan unit

The DV-302T consists of an impeller and a two-pole DC electric motor with series excitation. The motor includes a radio-interference suppression filter, which is important for aircraft use because onboard electrical equipment must not create excessive interference for communication, navigation, or control systems. The fan is made in a closed tropical version. This execution is intended for harsher operating environments, including exposure to humid air, marine fog, and mold-prone conditions during storage or service.

Operation and maintenance of DV-302T

The DV-302T is designed for long-duration operation, so the condition of the motor, impeller, bearings, wiring, and mounting points is important. During maintenance, the fan should be checked for free rotation, absence of abnormal noise, secure fastening, electrical contact quality, and damage to the impeller. Dirt, corrosion, worn brushes, imbalance, or a deformed housing can reduce performance and increase vibration. Since the fan is a rotating electrical unit, a part that looks acceptable externally may still require functional testing before installation.

Identification and supply of the DV-302T

When ordering or replacing the fan, the designation DV-302T / ДВ-302Т should be specified clearly. It is also worth confirming the required condition: new, from storage, repaired, overhauled, or serviceable with documents. For aviation use, the unit should be checked against the aircraft parts catalog, installation position, electrical system requirements, and available documentation. Completeness should be confirmed separately, because mounting hardware, connectors, or additional installation parts may not be included unless listed in the order.
