Description

GA-142/2 three-position hydraulic valve overview

The GA-142/2 is a three-position electromagnetic hydraulic valve used for remote control of actuators in aircraft and industrial hydraulic systems. It directs the flow of hydraulic fluid to the selected line by electrical command or by manual backup buttons on the valve body. The valve does not generate pressure and does not work as a pump. Its task is to switch the working fluid between two operating directions or keep the circuit in the neutral position when no electromagnet is energized.

Hydraulic switching through GA-142/2

In operation, the GA-142/2 uses two electromagnets with pushers to move the internal spool. In the neutral position, the spool is held in the middle position and the working ports are connected to drain according to the valve design. When one electromagnet is energized, the spool shifts and connects the pressure line to one working cavity of the hydraulic cylinder, while the opposite cavity is connected to return. When the other electromagnet is energized, the direction is reversed. This makes the valve suitable for actuators that need two controlled movement directions.

GA-142/2 in actuator and spoiler control circuits

The GA-142/2 is used where a hydraulic cylinder or similar actuator has to be moved remotely. In aircraft systems, this type of valve may be used in wing mechanization and spoiler control circuits, where hydraulic pressure has to be directed for extension or retraction. Similar hydraulic logic is also used in industrial systems with reversible actuators. If the mechanism does not move correctly, the valve is only one part of the check. Maintenance should also include pressure supply, drain line back pressure, wiring, electromagnet operation, fluid cleanliness, and actuator condition.

Application of hydraulic valve GA-142/2

The GA-142/2 is applied in hydraulic systems operating with AMG-10 fluid under high pressure. Open technical listings describe it as a three-position electromagnetic valve for remote hydraulic control. Some aviation references connect this valve type with aircraft actuator circuits, including spoiler and wheel steering type functions, but exact installation must be checked by the aircraft parts catalog or system manual. Similar valves may differ by pressure rating, port configuration, current consumption, or manual override design.

Identification and ordering checks for GA-142/2

Before ordering, the marking on the installed valve should be compared with the equipment documentation, passport, or hydraulic system schematic. The product may appear as GA-142/2, GA142/2, or in Russian documentation as ГА-142/2. For a correct request, it is useful to provide the aircraft or equipment type, system location, full designation, and a photo of the marking if available. The product is also known under alternative designation ГА-142/2.
