Hydraulic Valve
The GA-192 is an electromagnetic hydraulic valve used in aircraft hydraulic systems for remote control of hydraulic units. In technical descriptions it is often treated as an electrically controlled hydraulic shutoff or switching valve. The unit is installed in the line where hydraulic fluid has to be supplied to, or shut off from, a connected mechanism. It is not a pump and not a pressure source. Its job is to change the state of the hydraulic circuit when an electrical command is applied.
In operation, the GA-192 controls the passage of AMG-10 hydraulic fluid to the connected hydraulic unit. When the electromagnet is energized, the internal spool changes position and the hydraulic line is switched according to the system layout. This allows the aircraft system to control hydraulic boosters, auxiliary mechanisms, or other hydraulic consumers without direct mechanical operation at the valve. The response time is short, so the valve is suitable for circuits where hydraulic switching has to follow an electrical command.
Inside the hydraulic system, the GA-192 works together with pressure lines, return lines, hydraulic boosters, actuators, fittings, control switches, and aircraft wiring. If a connected mechanism does not operate correctly, the valve is only one part of the check. Maintenance work usually also includes the electrical supply, connector condition, spool movement, hydraulic pressure, drain back pressure, contamination of the working fluid, and the condition of the consumer unit. A problem in any of these areas can look like a valve fault.
The GA-192 is used in hydraulic systems of helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft where electrically controlled hydraulic switching is required. Public spare-part and technical listings connect this valve with Mi-8, An-8, An-12, Yak-40, An-10, Yak-38, and Tu-134 aircraft. The exact position in the system depends on the aircraft type and hydraulic layout. The same valve family may include related variants such as GA-192/1, GA-192/2, and GA-192T, so the installed marking should be checked before replacement.
Before ordering, the marking on the installed valve should be compared with the aircraft parts catalog, technical description, or operating documentation. The product may appear in supply documents as GA-192, GA192, or in Russian documentation as ГА-192. For a clear request, it is useful to provide the aircraft type, system location, full part number, and a photo of the marking if available. The product is also known under alternative designation ГА-192.
