US-250 operating purpose
US-250 is a indicated-airspeed indicator. Displays aircraft indicated airspeed from dynamic pressure in the pitot-static system. It operates inside an aircraft measuring or navigation channel and must be evaluated together with the sensors, computers, power supply and wiring of the exact installation.
Total pressure acts on the sensing capsule while static pressure is applied to the case, producing pointer movement proportional to dynamic pressure. Serviceability of the pointer alone therefore does not validate the complete system. A functional check must also cover input signals, interconnecting lines, associated units and the specified test procedure.

US-250 in the associated system
Associated system: Pitot-static flight-instrument system. Nearest connected equipment: Pitot tube, static ports, pressure hoses and cockpit instrument panel. These items form a functional chain but are not automatically included in the delivery set of one indicator.
Technical training material records US-250 on helicopters and class-4 aircraft; documented examples include the Ka-25. Applicability to another aircraft modification must not be inferred from appearance and requires confirmation in the parts catalogue, wiring diagram or maintenance manual.
Indication, power and cockpit installation
Indication range or presentation: 20–250 km/h on the confirmed dial execution; 10 km/h scale divisions. Power and input channel: No measuring power required; the pneumatic mechanism uses total and static pressure.
Installation: Cockpit instrument panel with total- and static-pressure connections. Before fitting, verify the complete designation, series, scale, connector or pressure ports, mounting, housing, glass and nameplate condition. The installed unit is then checked under the procedure for the applicable system and aircraft.
Identification of US-250
The original Soviet/Russian factory designation is Cyrillic: УС-250. The English card uses the consistent Latin transliteration US-250. Similar-looking Cyrillic and Latin characters are not mixed inside the primary designation.
US-250 variants with different illumination or dial details must be checked from the nameplate and face. A visually similar instrument, adjacent series or comparable scale does not prove interchangeability. Selection requires a nameplate photograph, exact index, aircraft type, associated system and documentation requirement.
