UMS-2.5-2I operating purpose
UMS-2.5-2I is a combined speed and mach indicator. Presents aircraft speed and Mach-number information received from the central air-data system. It operates inside an aircraft measuring or navigation channel and must be evaluated together with the sensors, computers, power supply and wiring of the exact installation.
Processed pressure signals from the air-data computer are converted into coordinated pointer and scale movement. Serviceability of the pointer alone therefore does not validate the complete system. A functional check must also cover input signals, interconnecting lines, associated units and the specified test procedure.

UMS-2.5-2I in the associated system
Associated system: SSV11-72-3-2I air-data system. Nearest connected equipment: Air-data computer, UV-30-3 altitude indicator, P-69-2M control unit and total/static pressure sources. These items form a functional chain but are not automatically included in the delivery set of one indicator.
The documented function is tied to the specified SSV execution; aircraft type must be confirmed from the installation manual. Applicability to another aircraft modification must not be inferred from appearance and requires confirmation in the parts catalogue, wiring diagram or maintenance manual.
Indication, power and cockpit installation
Indication range or presentation: Exact speed and Mach scales must be read from the dial and passport of the -2I execution. Power and input channel: From the matched SSV11-72-3-2I electrical and synchro circuits.
Installation: Cockpit instrument panel. Before fitting, verify the complete designation, series, scale, connector or pressure ports, mounting, housing, glass and nameplate condition. The installed unit is then checked under the procedure for the applicable system and aircraft.
