US-1600-1
airspeed indicator
Description
US-1600-1 operating purpose
US-1600-1 is a high-speed indicated-airspeed indicator. Displays indicated airspeed from the difference between total and static pressure. It operates inside an aircraft measuring or navigation channel and must be evaluated together with the sensors, computers, power supply and wiring of the exact installation.
A pressure-sensitive capsule responds to dynamic pressure and moves the pointer through the mechanical transmission. Serviceability of the pointer alone therefore does not validate the complete system. A functional check must also cover input signals, interconnecting lines, associated units and the specified test procedure.

US-1600-1 in the associated system
Associated system: Pitot-static airspeed measuring channel. Nearest connected equipment: Pitot tube, static-pressure ports, pressure lines and cockpit airspeed indication. These items form a functional chain but are not automatically included in the delivery set of one indicator.
Equipment lists document US-1600 on the Tu-128; the -1 execution still requires aircraft-specific confirmation. Applicability to another aircraft modification must not be inferred from appearance and requires confirmation in the parts catalogue, wiring diagram or maintenance manual.
Indication, power and cockpit installation
Indication range or presentation: Designation indicates the 1,600 km/h class; the exact lower limit and graduation must be confirmed from the dial and passport. Power and input channel: Pneumatic/mechanical measurement; illumination depends on the exact execution.
Installation: Cockpit instrument panel connected to total and static pressure lines. Before fitting, verify the complete designation, series, scale, connector or pressure ports, mounting, housing, glass and nameplate condition. The installed unit is then checked under the procedure for the applicable system and aircraft.
Identification of US-1600-1
The original Soviet/Russian factory designation is Cyrillic: УС-1600-1. The English card uses the consistent Latin transliteration US-1600-1. Similar-looking Cyrillic and Latin characters are not mixed inside the primary designation.
A former contradictory 0–1,000 scale statement has been removed; only the exact dial and passport should define the scale. A visually similar instrument, adjacent series or comparable scale does not prove interchangeability. Selection requires a nameplate photograph, exact index, aircraft type, associated system and documentation requirement.
Ordering and related indicators
An inquiry for US-1600-1 should state required condition, delivery set, passport and bench-test needs. Card defaults are Condition: New, Warranty: 6 Months and Stock Status: Pre-Order; actual lead time and documentation are confirmed in the quotation.
More instruments are available in the Aviamisto Altimeters and Indicators category. Related positions: US-250, USM-2, UMS-2.5-2I, UV-30-3. They belong to nearby functional channels or the same equipment group and are not confirmed replacements without direct technical documentation.
