Description
HS-57 is a white aircraft tail navigation light used in external lighting systems. It marks the rear point of an aircraft and complements the red and green side lights that indicate orientation and direction. Purpose and installation
The light is intended for a rear-facing installation defined by the aircraft design. Verified aviation parts catalogues list HS-57 as a tail navigation light, including listings for Mi-8 and An-26 equipment. These references confirm the product family, while the exact mounting location and eligibility for a particular aircraft must be checked against its illustrated parts catalogue and maintenance documentation.
Construction and lamp
The HS-57 has a clear protective cover over the lamp and reflector, a ribbed retaining section and a metal mounting base. The specified light source is an SM-24 aircraft lamp. Because catalogues do not consistently publish the complete electrical and dimensional specification for every HS-57 execution, voltage, lamp power, connector arrangement and mounting dimensions should be taken from the passport or the marking of the offered unit before installation.
Selection and inspection
