Vibration monitoring
Available on back-order
The IV-500E Series 2 vibration monitoring equipment is an aviation system designed for continuous control of engine vibration velocity, early detection of hazardous vibration levels and automatic warning of the flight crew.
The system forms part of onboard safety and monitoring instrumentation on transport-class aircraft and helicopters powered by two engines.
The equipment continuously measures vibration in the engine nacelle using piezoelectric vibration sensors mounted directly on the engine body. When vibration levels exceed predetermined thresholds, the system activates cockpit indicator lights to warn the crew and sends electrical control signals to the aircraft’s systems.
Two warning thresholds are used: a yellow caution level and a red shutdown level, supporting early preventive awareness and immediate pilot action.
The electronic processing block, matching devices and sensors operate together as an integrated detection loop.
The IV-500E set monitors vibration in the frequency band most typical for engine mechanical imbalance, compressor surge onset, bearing failure or rotor wear.
Alternate Designations:
IV-500E may appear as IV500E, ИВ-500Е, ИВ500Е, IV-500E-2
All refer to the same equipment set.
