The BE-9E Series 2 is an electronic processing unit used as part of the IV-500E engine vibration monitoring equipment. It receives vibration signals from engine-mounted piezoelectric sensors and processes them for cockpit warning indication. The unit is not a vibration sensor by itself. It works as the logic and comparison block of the system, checking measured vibration levels against preset thresholds and sending the corresponding warning signals to the aircraft indication and control circuits.
During operation, the BE-9E Series 2 receives signals through matching units from the vibration sensors installed on the engines. The unit compares vibration velocity with the caution and dangerous vibration limits set for the IV-500E system. When the caution level is reached, the unit activates yellow cockpit annunciators. When the dangerous level is reached, it activates red warning lights and issues electrical signals that may be used by the aircraft’s automatic engine protection or warning logic, depending on the installation.
The BE-9E Series 2 works with MV-03-1 piezoelectric vibration sensors, USS-6 Series 2 matching units, cockpit annunciator lights and the test pushbutton. The sensors are mounted on the engines, while the electronic unit is usually installed in the cargo cabin or avionics mounting area according to the aircraft layout. The BE-9E does not measure vibration mechanically. It processes the electrical signal and controls the warning output. A fault in vibration warning may come from the sensor, matching unit, wiring, power supply or BE-9E unit.
The BE-9E Series 2 is used on Mi-8 / Mi-17 family helicopters and other multi-engine aircraft equipped with IV-500E vibration monitoring equipment. The system is intended for continuous engine vibration monitoring during flight and ground operation. It helps detect vibration patterns that may be linked with imbalance, bearing wear, rotor defects or other mechanical faults. The exact warning chain depends on the aircraft type, installed annunciation panel and engine protection wiring.
Before ordering BE-9E Series 2, the marking on the unit should be checked against the IV-500E documentation, aircraft wiring diagram and equipment list. It is also important to confirm whether the request is for the electronic unit only or for the complete IV-500E set. For correct selection, provide the aircraft type, installed system marking, required part number and a photo of the unit data plate. The product is also known under alternative designations BE-9E, BE9E, BЭ-9Е, БЭ-9Е and 6Л2.009.005-8.
