GT60PCH6A
AC generator
Description
GT60PCH6A in the Il-76 electrical system
GT60PCH6A is a three-phase brushless synchronous generator rated at 60 kVA, 208/120 V and 400 Hz. The Il-76TD maintenance documentation identifies this generator in the aircraft AC power system. It operates with a constant-speed drive and separate voltage-regulation and protection equipment. The machine forms the generating element of the SPZSCHP60V generating system; the complete system includes more than the generator housing alone.
Full descriptionCollapse description
Rotor, stator and excitation
The machine has an eight-pole main magnetic system, an exciter, a permanent-magnet subexciter and rotating rectifiers. Rectified exciter current supplies the rotor field without brush current collection. The stator windings form the three-phase output, connected in star with an accessible power neutral. Six winding terminals are designated A, B, C, X, Y and Z. Integral current transformers support monitoring of the generator-side circuits.
GT60PCH6A regulation and protection
The BRN-208M7B regulator controls excitation to maintain output voltage. The BZU-376SP protection/control unit forms part of the documented Il-76 installation. The generator's current transformers work with the external BTT-60PM block in generator and feeder protection. This separates voltage control, protective monitoring and mechanical frequency control into coordinated functions of the electrical system.
Main output and auxiliary excitation circuit
Rated output is 60 kVA at a line voltage of 208 V, phase voltage of 120 V and current of 166.7 A. The main output frequency is 400 Hz at 6,000 rpm; the listed shaft-speed range is 5,700–6,300 rpm. The power factor range is 0.8–1 and rated-load efficiency is at least 0.87. The 800 Hz value in the excitation circuit is a separate internal-system parameter, not the frequency delivered to the aircraft AC bus.
Cooling and continuous operating conditions
Air passages and the ribbed housing support cooling during operation. The technical teaching documentation distinguishes the full rated condition from ground operation without cooling-air flow: at nominal shaft speed, the latter permits 20 kVA continuously, not 60 kVA. Other machines are listed in the generator category. Background on the aircraft platform is available in the neutral Il-76 reference.
