The MVT-300 is an aircraft rotary electromechanism with a built-in D-300TF DC motor. It is used where a compact electric drive has to rotate a mechanical unit with relatively high torque. Unlike small signal actuators, the MVT-300 is intended for heavier mechanical loads: boom movement, flap movement, valve actuation, or positioning of auxiliary mechanisms. The unit receives power from the aircraft 27 V DC network and converts it into rotation of the output shaft through its internal drive section.
One of the most practical applications of the MVT-300 is the aircraft rescue hoist system SLG-300. In this installation, the MVT-300 is used for turning the onboard hoist boom. Through the mechanical drive and worm gear arrangement, the mechanism moves the boom outside the door opening or fuselage contour before lifting operations begin. After the operation is completed, the same drive returns the boom to its stowed position. This function is separate from the cable lifting mechanism: the MVT-300 turns the boom, while the hoisting of people or cargo is performed by the lifting winch.
In the SLG-300 system, the MVT-300 works as a positioning drive. Its task is not to lift the load directly, but to place the boom in the correct operating position. This matters because the boom has to move in a controlled way under aircraft vibration, changing load conditions, and limited space near the door opening. A weak or unstable drive can create problems before the lifting cycle even begins. For this reason, the condition of the MVT-300 affects the readiness of the whole rescue hoist installation, even though the main lifting force comes from another unit.
Outside the SLG-300 application, the MVT-300 can be used in aircraft and special equipment wherever rotary movement of an executive unit is required. Typical controlled elements may include engine cowling doors, air flaps, oil radiator shutters, air-conditioning system dampers, hydraulic or fuel shut-off valves, and other mechanisms that need remote actuation. The exact use depends on the aircraft or vehicle design. In each case, the mechanism is selected because it provides a strong rotary output while remaining small enough for installation in a technical compartment or equipment bay.
The MVT-300 is powered by a built-in D-300TF DC motor. In an aircraft installation, the drive normally works with switches, relays, contactors, circuit breakers, and end-position switches. The control circuit sends an “extend,” “retract,” “open,” or “close” command, while limit switches stop the movement when the controlled mechanism reaches its end position. Since the drive can draw significant current, the condition of the wiring, contacts, protection devices, and connectors is important. Poor switching or voltage drop can reduce output power and make the mechanism work unevenly.
The MVT-300 should be checked as both an electrical and mechanical unit. The motor may be electrically functional, but the mechanism can still be unsuitable if the output shaft is stiff, the reduction gear is worn, the mounting is damaged, or the travel is not smooth. During maintenance, technicians normally check shaft rotation, current draw, connector condition, mounting points, signs of overheating, corrosion, mechanical play, and operation with the connected linkage. For SLG-300 installations, the boom movement should be checked through the full working range and in the stowed position.
For procurement or replacement, the designation MVT-300 should be specified together with the required condition and application. If the unit is intended for the SLG-300 hoist, this should be stated separately, because the installation interface and documentation may be important for acceptance. It is also useful to clarify whether the unit is required as new, from storage, overhauled, repaired, or serviceable with documents.
