Almaz-UP aircraft voice warning equipment

Almaz-UP is an aircraft voice warning system designed for automatic playback of pre-recorded speech messages to the crew. The equipment is used on aircraft and helicopters where emergency, warning or critical system events must be communicated clearly through audio channels. Instead of relying only on warning lamps or annunciator panels, Almaz-UP gives the crew a direct voice message in the headset or aircraft communication system. This helps the crew identify the failure faster, especially in a busy cockpit environment.

Automatic crew alerting with Almaz-UP

The system works from discrete signals received from aircraft warning circuits, sensors or failure contacts. When a monitored event occurs, the assigned input is activated and Almaz-UP reproduces the corresponding voice message. The phrase set depends on the aircraft type, wiring and recorded dictionary. Typical warnings may relate to engine fire, dangerous altitude, hydraulic system failure, engine malfunction or other emergency conditions. The system does not diagnose the aircraft by itself; it reproduces the message assigned to the signal received from the connected onboard system.

Almaz-UP-48 voice message playback

The passported execution of this Almaz-UP set includes a voice message playback block for 48 recorded messages. This configuration is suitable for aircraft that require an expanded warning phrase set. The message playback block is the main unit of the system and contains the reproduction equipment for the recorded phrases. In operation, the warning logic is normally arranged by priority, so more critical emergency messages can interrupt or override less important information. This is important in flight, where the crew must hear the most urgent warning first.

Audio output and aircraft system interface

Almaz-UP is connected to aircraft audio and communication equipment. Depending on the aircraft installation, the voice message may be transmitted to crew headsets, the aircraft intercom system, internal communication equipment or radio communication circuits. The matching amplifier is used to adapt the speech signal to the required onboard audio channels. Because audio levels and routing depend on the aircraft wiring, replacement or testing should include actual playback checks through the connected headset and communication circuits, not only bench power-up of the unit.

Standard Almaz-UP set composition

The standard set includes the Almaz-UP-48 voice message playback block, the RI-65-30 matching amplifier, the RI-65-20 remote control panel and the summary passport. The playback block reproduces the recorded warning phrases. The RI-65-30 matching amplifier provides signal matching with aircraft audio channels and connected communication equipment. The RI-65-20 remote control panel is used for control, checking and service functions depending on the aircraft installation. The summary passport confirms the set composition, acceptance status and resource data.

Aircraft application of Almaz-UP

Almaz-UP equipment is used on civil and military aircraft and helicopters, including Mi-8 / Mi-17-family applications and other aircraft with compatible warning and intercom systems. The system may be supplied as a complete set or as separate replacement units, depending on the maintenance task. Before installation, compatibility should be checked by aircraft type, warning signal wiring, audio output circuits, connector configuration, message dictionary and available documentation. Similar voice warning systems may not be directly interchangeable without confirmation by aircraft documentation.

Inspection and supply of Almaz-UP

During maintenance or acceptance checks, Almaz-UP is normally tested for power supply, input response, correct message playback, audio output level, priority logic, remote control operation, connector condition and completeness. The passport confirms the serviceability acceptance and resource data for the supplied set. When ordering, it is useful to specify whether the requirement is for a complete Almaz-UP set, the Almaz-UP-48 playback block, the RI-65-30 matching amplifier, the RI-65-20 remote control panel or documentation. For aircraft use, storage condition and test status should be verified before installation.
