RI-65-20 remote control panel for voice warning equipment

RI-65-20 is an onboard remote control panel used in aircraft voice warning and annunciation systems. The unit is intended for control, checking and service interaction with voice warning equipment installed on helicopters and other aircraft. In the Almaz-UP passported set, RI-65-20 is supplied together with the Almaz-UP-48 voice message playback unit and RI-65-30 matching amplifier. The panel is used as part of the aircraft warning chain, where voice messages must be activated, checked and routed to crew communication channels according to the onboard system logic.

RI-65-20 in the Almaz-UP / RI-65 system

RI-65-20 works with RI-65 voice warning equipment and may be used together with Almaz-UP-48 playback units in compatible aircraft installations. Its role is not to store the voice dictionary itself, but to provide control and operational interaction with the voice warning system. The panel helps manage warning playback functions, service checks and system control depending on the aircraft wiring. When used with Almaz-UP-48, it forms part of the same voice alerting chain that sends recorded messages to the crew through aircraft audio channels.

Control of aircraft voice warning messages

The RI-65-20 panel is used in systems that receive command signals from onboard warning circuits, sensors or related voice warning equipment. These signals may be voltage or pulse-type signals, depending on the aircraft system. After processing by the connected voice warning equipment, the corresponding voice message is sent to the aircraft intercom, crew headset circuits or radio communication channels. RI-65-20 supports this control logic and gives maintenance or crew personnel a defined interface for checking and operating the voice warning system.

Application on Mi-8 / Mi-17 helicopters

RI-65-20 is commonly associated with Mi-8, Mi-17 and compatible helicopter platforms fitted with RI-65 or Almaz-UP-type voice warning equipment. On these aircraft, the voice warning system helps the crew receive clear spoken alerts about abnormal or hazardous conditions. The panel is installed as part of the cockpit or onboard avionics equipment, depending on aircraft configuration. Before replacement, compatibility should be confirmed by aircraft type, wiring diagram, connector execution, associated voice module and the required message playback system.

Signal routing and audio output

In the voice warning system, RI-65-20 is linked with equipment that sends voice alerts to crew audio channels. The final output may go to the crew intercom, headset lines or radio communication channels, depending on the aircraft installation. The panel itself should be considered part of the control and interface section of the system, while playback and signal amplification are handled by the connected modules. Correct system operation depends on all linked units: the playback block, matching amplifier, control panel, wiring and aircraft audio equipment.

Operating environment and reliability

RI-65-20 is intended for aviation operating conditions, including vibration, temperature changes and electromagnetic interference typical of aircraft electrical systems. The unit operates from the aircraft DC power supply and is designed for use in onboard radio-electronic equipment. When troubleshooting, it is necessary to check power supply, connectors, input control signals, panel response, associated playback unit operation and audio output through the connected system. A fault in wiring or a connected module may appear as incorrect RI-65-20 operation, so the system should be tested as a complete chain.

For procurement, the full designation RI-65-20 should be specified, along with the aircraft type and the associated voice warning system. It is also important to state whether the unit is required as part of an Almaz-UP complete set or as a separate replacement panel. In aircraft supply, passport, label, condition, storage history, test status, connector type and compatibility with Almaz-UP-48 / RI-65 equipment should be checked before installation. The unit may be supplied with documentation upon request, depending on stock and delivery terms.

Returns & Changes (Restocking Fee)
