Air Control Valve
The 1919T is an aircraft air control valve used for controlled regulation of hot air flow in onboard pneumatic and air-heating systems. The unit is installed in air ducts where hot bleed air must be directed, limited, or shut off depending on system demand. Its main function is to support stable operation of aircraft anti-icing and air distribution circuits by controlling the air flow supplied to protected areas of the aircraft structure.
In helicopter applications, the 1919T is commonly used in the air-thermal anti-icing system of engine air intakes. The valve regulates hot air delivery to intake lips, ducts, tunnels, and dust protection unit areas that require heating during icing conditions. This helps maintain the required thermal condition of the intake system and reduces the risk of ice formation in zones that are exposed to cold airflow, moisture, and variable operating regimes.
The 1919T also helps prevent excessive pressure in air lines when engine bleed air is available but downstream consumers are not operating. In this role, the valve supports correct distribution and limitation of hot air flow within the aircraft system. The unit is therefore not only a shut-off component but also a regulating element used to keep the air system within its intended operating range during different flight and ground conditions.
The 1919T operates together with the EPV-50BT electromechanical rotary actuator. This actuator moves the valve flap between operating positions and allows remote control from the aircraft system. The valve design includes position signaling through internal microswitches, which provide feedback on the end positions of the flap. This allows the aircraft control circuit to monitor whether the valve has reached its commanded open or closed position.
The 1919T is used on helicopters of the Mi-8 family and related modifications, including Mi-17, Mi-171, and Mi-172 applications. It may also be used in certain fixed-wing aircraft air systems, depending on the aircraft configuration and installed equipment. When ordering or replacing the unit, the designation 1919T should be checked against the aircraft parts catalog, system documentation, and the required actuator configuration.
