PM-10MR sensor in the IR-117M system

PM-10MR is an aircraft pneumatic pressure sensor used in engine operating mode measurement systems of the IR-117 / IR-117M type. The unit works as a sensing element in the engine indication chain and provides pressure data for cockpit engine mode indication. It is not an indicator by itself and does not display values to the crew directly. Its function is to measure compressor outlet air pressure and transmit the corresponding signal to the engine mode measuring system.

Compressor pressure measurement through PM-10MR

The sensor measures air pressure downstream of the engine compressor. This parameter is used by the IR-117 / IR-117M system to assess engine operating mode during ground operation and flight. Compressor outlet pressure changes with engine load and operating condition, so it is one of the key inputs for mode indication. Correct sensor operation depends on clean pressure lines, proper connection to the measuring circuit and stable aircraft DC power supply.

PM-10MR with IR-117 and UR-117M instruments

PM-10MR works together with the UR-117M operating mode indicator and other elements of the IR-117 / IR-117M system. In a complete set, two pressure receivers may be used together with altitude and temperature correction elements. The sensor output is processed by the system and shown on the cockpit indicator as part of engine operating mode data. If the indication is incorrect, the check should include the sensor, pressure line, electrical connection, receiving instrument and associated correction sensors.

Aircraft application of PM-10MR

The sensor is used on aircraft and helicopters equipped with IR-117 type engine mode meters. In helicopter applications, it is associated with engine control and indication systems installed on platforms such as the Mi-8 / Mi-17 family, depending on configuration. Exact applicability depends on the engine installation and the version of the engine mode measuring system. Similar aircraft may use different pressure sensing components, so replacement should be confirmed through the aircraft and engine documentation.

Identification and ordering of PM-10MR

Before ordering PM-10MR, the marking should be checked against the IR-117 / IR-117M documentation, aircraft parts catalog or product passport. It is useful to confirm the installed system, pressure range, connector configuration and number of sensors required for the set. For correct selection, provide the aircraft type, engine type, system designation, installed sensor marking and available passport data.
