vibration sensor
Available on back-order
The MV-03-2 is an aircraft piezoelectric vibration sensor used in engine vibration monitoring systems. It is installed directly on the engine casing and converts mechanical vibration into an electrical signal. The sensor works as part of the IV-500E vibration monitoring equipment on Mi-8 / Mi-17 family helicopters with TV3-117 engines. Unlike the MV-03 sensor body version, the MV-03-2 is supplied with a factory-installed cable, which makes it ready for connection into the aircraft wiring path.
During engine operation, the MV-03-2 detects vibration in the engine structure and transmits the signal through its cable to the USS-6 matching unit. The signal is then conditioned and sent to the BE-9E electronic processing unit. BE-9E compares the vibration level with preset thresholds and activates cockpit annunciators when the vibration exceeds caution or emergency limits. The working chain is MV-03-2 → USS-6 → BE-9E → cockpit annunciators.
The MV-03-2 is one of the primary sensing elements in the IV-500E engine vibration monitoring equipment. The system is used for continuous monitoring of vibration velocity during flight and ground operation. It helps detect abnormal vibration connected with imbalance, bearing wear, rotor defects, shaft alignment issues or other dynamic faults. The sensor itself does not evaluate the fault. It only sends the measured vibration signal to the rest of the IV-500E equipment.
The MV-03-2 is associated with Mi-8, Mi-17 and Mi-171 helicopters powered by TV3-117 engines. It is mounted on the engine casing according to the aircraft and engine installation documentation. Since the sensor is supplied with a cable, the condition of the cable, shielding, connector area and mounting point matters during inspection. A weak or unstable signal may be caused by the sensor element, damaged cable, loose fastening, poor shielding or incorrect installation on the engine body.
Before ordering MV-03-2, the marking should be checked against the IV-500E documentation, aircraft wiring scheme and engine installation data. It is also important to confirm whether the required part is MV-03, MV-03-1 or MV-03-2, because the cable configuration differs. For correct selection, provide the helicopter type, engine type, installed vibration monitoring system and photos of the sensor or label if available. The product is also known under alternative designations MV-03-2, MV032, МВ-03-2 and МВ032.
