Description

IDP-1 simulator in the SKES-2027 fuel quantity system

IDP-1 is a float sensor simulator used in the SKES-2027 electric fuel quantity measuring system. It is installed in helicopter fuel indication circuits where removable additional tanks may not always be fitted. The unit replaces the electrical signal of a real float-type fuel transmitter when the additional tank is removed. In English technical requests, this item can be described as a float sensor simulator or fuel transmitter simulator.

Signal imitation through IDP-1

The simulator provides an electrical resistance equivalent to the signal of a fuel tank transmitter in a defined condition. This allows the fuel quantity system to remain electrically complete when the actual additional tank sensor is not connected. Without such a simulator, the indicator circuit may read the missing sensor as an open circuit or give incorrect indication. IDP-1 does not measure fuel level. It only imitates the required transmitter signal for the measuring circuit.

IDP-1 with BE-09K, P8U and tank transmitters

The unit works with the BE-09K cockpit indicator, P8U or P-8UK tank selector, and lever-float fuel transmitters used in the SKES-2027 system. In helicopter configurations with removable cabin tanks, IDP-1 is part of the same indication chain as the tank transmitters. It helps keep the system matched when the additional tank is not installed. During troubleshooting, the simulator should be checked together with the selector, indicator, wiring and ground connections.

Aircraft application of the IDP-1 simulator

IDP-1 is used on helicopters equipped with SKES-2027 fuel quantity systems, including SKES-2027A, SKES-2027B and SKES-2027V variants. Typical applications include Mi-8 family helicopters such as Mi-8T, Mi-8MTV-1 and Mi-8AMT, as well as Ka-32 configurations. The exact installation depends on the helicopter fuel tank layout and the installed fuel quantity system. On some aircraft, the simulator is mounted near additional tank connection points or refuelling-related areas inside the fuselage.

Identification and ordering of IDP-1

Before ordering, the simulator marking should be checked against the aircraft fuel system documentation or the SKES-2027 set passport. It is important to confirm the fuel quantity system variant, the additional tank configuration and the connector type. A unit from storage should be supplied with its individual passport where required. For correct selection, provide the helicopter type, installed kerosene quantity system, wiring position and a photo of the existing unit. The product is also known under alternative designations IDP-1, IDP1 and ИДП-1.
