fuel transmitter for SKES-2027B
Available on back-order
DTPR Tank R is a lever-float fuel transmitter used in the SKES-2027B electric fuel quantity measuring system. It is installed in the service tank of Mi-8 / Mi-17 family helicopters and sends the fuel level signal to the cockpit indicator. In English documentation and supply requests, this type of item is often described as a fuel transmitter, not only as a sensor. The unit is part of the fuel quantity indication circuit and should be selected by tank position and system designation.
The transmitter measures fuel level through a float and lever mechanism. As the kerosene level in the service tank changes, the float moves and changes the electrical signal sent to the indicator. The cockpit instrument then displays fuel volume according to the selected tank position. The transmitter does not measure fuel flow and does not control fuel supply. Its function is level indication, with signal output to the SKES-2027B measuring chain.
The Tank R version has an additional signalling function linked to the service tank. When the fuel level drops to the emergency reserve threshold, the built-in contact device closes the circuit and activates the cockpit warning indication. On Mi-8 family helicopters this warning is associated with the "270 l remaining" fuel reserve signal. This function makes the Tank R transmitter different from transmitters for the external or additional tanks, so replacement by another tank version should not be done without checking the aircraft documentation.
The transmitter works with the BE-09K cockpit indicator, the P8U tank selector and other DTPR transmitters in the SKES-2027B set. The selector allows the crew to choose which tank is shown on the indicator. Tank R corresponds to the service tank, while other transmitter versions are used for the left external tank, right external tank and additional tank. If the indication is incorrect, the fault may be in the transmitter, selector, indicator, wiring, grounding or adjustment circuit.
Before ordering, the marking should be checked against the helicopter fuel system documentation or the SKES-2027B set passport. The tank designation is important: Tank R is not the same as Tank Pl, Tank Ppr or Tank D. For correct selection, provide the helicopter type, installed fuel quantity system, tank position, transmitter marking and, if possible, a photo of the unit or passport entry. The product is also known under alternative designations DTPR Tank R, SKES-2027B Tank R fuel transmitter and ДТПР Бак Р.
