Description

DTPR Tank Pl fuel transmitter in the SKES-2027B system

DTPR Tank Pl is a lever-float fuel transmitter used in the SKES-2027B electric fuel quantity measuring system. It is installed in the left external fuel tank of Mi-8 / Mi-17 / Mi-171 family helicopters. The transmitter sends the tank level signal to the cockpit indicator through the fuel measuring circuit. In English technical and purchasing documents, this part is better described as a fuel transmitter, because it transmits fuel level data from the tank to the indication system.

Fuel level measurement through the Tank Pl transmitter

The transmitter works through a float and lever mechanism. As the kerosene level in the left external tank changes, the float moves and changes the electrical signal sent to the indicator. The BE-09K cockpit indicator then shows the fuel quantity when the crew selects this tank through the P8U selector. The unit does not measure fuel flow and does not control fuel supply. Its role is limited to tank level indication within the SKES-2027B system.

Refuelling signal from DTPR Tank Pl

The Tank Pl version is linked with the refuelling signal for the left external tank. When the tank reaches the specified filling level, the transmitter circuit can activate the “tank full” indication used during refuelling. For Tank Pl, the refuelling signal point is 1091 l. This value belongs to the left external tank configuration, so Tank Pl should not be replaced by Tank R, Tank Ppr or Tank D without checking the aircraft documentation and the SKES-2027B set passport.

DTPR Tank Pl with BE-09K indicator and P8U selector

The transmitter works together with the BE-09K indicator, P8U tank selector and other DTPR transmitters in the SKES-2027B set. The selector allows the crew to switch the displayed tank. Tank Pl corresponds to the left external tank, while Tank R is used for the service tank, Tank Ppr for the right external tank and Tank D for the additional tank. If the indication is incorrect, the fault may be in the transmitter, selector, wiring, indicator or adjustment circuit.

Identification and ordering of DTPR Tank Pl

Before ordering, the tank designation should be checked carefully. Tank Pl means left external tank. A visually similar transmitter from another tank position may have a different lever geometry, signalling point or electrical setting. For correct selection, provide the helicopter type, installed fuel quantity system, tank position, transmitter marking and, if possible, a photo of the item or passport entry. The product is also known under alternative designations DTPR Tank Pl, SKES-2027B Tank Pl fuel transmitter and ДТПР Бак Пл.
