Description

Dual-channel amplifier 2UE-6B Series 2

The 2UE-6B Series 2 is an aircraft dual-channel electronic amplifier used in temperature measurement systems. It is installed in the signal path between thermocouple sensors and cockpit temperature indicators. The unit does not measure temperature directly. Its job is to receive a weak thermoelectric signal, process it, and send a usable signal further through the indication circuit. On Mi-8 family helicopters, this amplifier is normally linked with engine and transmission temperature monitoring equipment.

Signal amplification in 2UE-6B Series 2

In operation, the amplifier works with low-level signals coming from thermocouples. These signals are too weak to be used directly by the indicator without proper amplification and compensation. The 2UE-6B Series 2 amplifies the input signal and compensates for reference junction temperature, which is needed for stable readings in thermoelectric measurement systems. If indication is unstable or shows incorrect temperature, the fault may be in the thermocouple, wiring, transition unit, indicator, power supply, or amplifier itself.

2UE-6B Series 2 in Mi-8 temperature systems

The unit is used on Mi-8 family helicopters, including Mi-8T, Mi-8MTV, Mi-17 and Mi-171E. It is associated with exhaust gas temperature measurement systems such as 2IA-6 and similar installations. In these systems, temperature data is used by the crew to monitor engine operating condition and avoid operation outside permitted limits. The exact installation and wiring can differ by helicopter version and equipment set, so replacement should be checked against the aircraft documentation.

System chain around the 2UE-6B amplifier

The 2UE-6B Series 2 works as part of a measurement chain that includes thermocouples, transition units, connecting wiring and cockpit indicators. Typical associated equipment includes T-93 type thermocouples or equivalent sensors, PK-6 transition units and 2UT-6K indicators. The amplifier is usually installed in an onboard equipment compartment, not directly on the hot section of the engine. During maintenance, connector condition, shielding, grounding and continuity of the sensor lines should be checked before replacing the amplifier.

Identification and ordering of 2UE-6B Series 2

Before ordering, the unit marking should be compared with the aircraft parts catalog, wiring diagram and temperature measurement system documentation. The series number matters, because similar 2UE units may differ by circuit version, calibration, connector arrangement or approved system use. For correct selection, provide the helicopter type, measurement system type, installed indicator, thermocouple type and a photo of the data plate if available. The product is also known under alternative designations 2UE-6B Series 2 and 2УЭ-6Б сер. 2.
