temperature measuring system

2IA-6 is an aircraft onboard measuring system used for continuous monitoring of exhaust gas temperature on helicopter engines. The system is built as a dual-channel set, with one independent measuring channel for each engine. It is used with TV3-117 family engines installed on Mi-8MT / Mi-17, Mi-24 and related helicopter types. In the cockpit, the system gives the crew direct visual control of engine gas temperature during start, warm-up, takeoff and flight operation.
The 2IA-6 system works with thermoelectric sensors installed in the exhaust gas path. The T-102 thermocouple sets generate a low-level thermoelectric signal proportional to gas temperature. This signal passes through PK-6 transition units and goes to the 2UE-6B Series 2 electronic amplifier. After amplification and conversion, the signal drives the dual-pointer 2UT-6K cockpit indicator. The crew sees separate readings for the left and right engines, which makes it possible to compare engine temperature behavior in real time.
A complete 2IA-6 set includes several units rather than one single instrument. The 2UT-6K dual pointer indicator is installed on the cockpit instrument panel. The 2UE-6B Series 2 amplifier is usually installed in the radio equipment rack area. Two PK-6 transition blocks connect the sensor lines with the measuring circuit and associated temperature regulator circuits. The T-102 thermocouple set includes chromel-alumel sensors, arranged by engine to measure average exhaust gas temperature.
The 2IA-6 system is part of the engine monitoring chain and works alongside temperature regulation equipment such as RT-12-6 electronic temperature regulators. It does not control fuel flow by itself and does not limit engine temperature directly. Its role is measurement and indication. Still, its readings are important for the crew and maintenance personnel, because abnormal temperature indication may point to engine condition, thermocouple failure, wiring faults, amplifier issues or indicator malfunction.
Before ordering 2IA-6 components, the aircraft documentation should be checked carefully. Complete systems and individual blocks are often requested separately, especially 2UT-6K indicators, 2UE-6B amplifiers, PK-6 transition units and T-102 thermocouple sets. For correct selection, provide the helicopter type, engine type, installed system configuration and the required unit number from the parts catalog or logbook. The product is also known under alternative designations 2IA-6 and 2ИА-6.
