Aircraft static converter PTS-800BM

The PTS-800BM is an aircraft three-phase static power converter used in onboard electrical power systems. It converts 27 V DC from the aircraft network into three-phase AC power for equipment that requires 400 Hz supply. Unlike rotary converters, the unit has no motor-generator section. Power conversion is handled by electronic modules, with regulation and protection circuits inside the converter. Construction of the PTS-800BM converter

The PTS-800BM is built in a rectangular housing containing power electronic modules, printed circuit boards for control and protection, input and output filters, and an integrated cooling fan. The fan works as part of the thermal control system and starts when the internal temperature reaches the specified level. For aircraft mounting, the converter can be installed in a shock absorbing frame. This frame reduces vibration and mechanical loads transferred to the unit, which is important for helicopter installations and equipment bays with high vibration.
