Hydraulic Dispenser
Available on back-order
The GA-172-00-2/T is a hydraulic shut-off dispenser used in aircraft hydraulic systems. Its job is to stop the loss of hydraulic fluid when a pipeline or connected section is damaged. The unit does not work like a normal control valve that the crew opens and closes during routine operation. It reacts to the amount of fluid passing through the line. If the preset volume is exceeded during one operating cycle, the dispenser shuts off the damaged direction and helps preserve the remaining hydraulic fluid in the system.
In operation, the dispenser limits fluid loss from a failed hydraulic line. Under normal conditions, the working fluid passes through the unit to the connected consumer. If a line ruptures or leakage becomes excessive, the flow volume through the dispenser reaches the set threshold. The internal mechanism then closes the passage to the damaged section. This is useful in systems where one failed line should not drain the whole hydraulic circuit. The reverse direction remains open for free passage, according to the dispenser design.
Inside the hydraulic system, GA-172-00-2/T works together with pumps, pipelines, control valves, actuators, landing gear units, and service fittings. It does not repair the damaged line and does not restore pressure by itself. Its purpose is more limited: to isolate the failed part so the rest of the system has a better chance of staying usable. If the system loses pressure, maintenance personnel still have to check the line, connected actuator, valve condition, fluid level, and leakage path before blaming the dispenser.
The GA-172-00-2/T is used in hydraulic systems of helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. Open references and catalog listings connect this dispenser with Mi-8 / Mi-17 helicopters and An-26 aircraft. It may be installed in hydraulic control circuits and landing gear system lines, depending on the aircraft layout. Exact applicability should be checked by the aircraft parts catalog or maintenance manual. A similar hydraulic unit may not be interchangeable if the dosing volume, pressure range, connection layout, or installation version differs.
Before ordering, the marking on the installed unit should be compared with the aircraft documentation. The product may also appear as GA-172-00-2 or GA172002T in supply documents. For maintenance requests, it is useful to specify whether the unit is required for a control circuit, landing gear system, or another hydraulic line. A clear request should include the aircraft type, installation location, full part number, and a photo of the marking if available. The product is also known under alternative designations GA-172-00-2 and GA172002T.
