FG11BN hydraulic filter for aircraft systems

The FG11BN is a hydraulic filter used in aircraft and specialized equipment hydraulic systems. It is installed in the hydraulic line where the working fluid has to be cleaned before it reaches pumps, valves, actuators, fittings, and other units. The filter is not a pressure regulator and does not control the circuit. Its job is more direct: it removes mechanical particles from the fluid and helps keep the hydraulic line in working condition.

A clean filter has limited resistance, but resistance increases as the element collects contamination.

It does not protect the whole system by itself, but it reduces the amount of contamination moving further through the circuit. A clogged filter element can create symptoms that look like a fault in another unit.
