KUL-150 is a control box used as the central distribution and protection unit in the onboard cargo lifting system of the LPG-150M electric hoist. The unit provides electrical switching, power distribution and protection functions for the hoist drive system. It is used together with the LPG-150M electric hoist, D-500TV electric motors and PUL-1A remote control panel.
The KUL-150 control box is intended for remote switching control of the two D-500TV electric motors installed in the LPG-150M hoist. It distributes 27 V DC aircraft power to the motor control circuits and switching relays. Through this unit, the hoist system receives commands for cable payout and retrieval, while the control box manages the electrical logic and protection of the drive circuits.
KUL-150 includes protective elements for the electrical circuits of the hoist. The unit protects control and motor circuits from overloads and short circuits through built-in aircraft circuit breakers. This protection is important because the LPG-150M drive system operates with high current during lifting and lowering operations, especially under load. The control box supports safe operation of the hoist by limiting electrical faults and isolating protected circuits when required.
The control box supports the automation logic of the LPG-150M hoist system. One of its functions is switching the system to half speed when the cable approaches the end of retrieval, with approximately 4–6 meters remaining before full retraction. In this mode, one of the motors is disconnected to reduce operating speed. The unit also provides emergency reserve control, allowing the second motor to be forcibly activated through the emergency switch if the automatic system fails near the end of cable retrieval.
On Mi-8 family helicopters, the KUL-150 control box is installed inside the cargo or passenger cabin, on the wall of frame No. 5 on the left side. This location places the unit close to the sliding door opening and the onboard hoist boom. The PUL-1A portable remote control panel is normally secured nearby, allowing the flight mechanic or hoist operator to control the LPG-150M system from the door area during lifting operations.
The product may be referenced as KUL-150, КУЛ-150, LPG-150M control box or hoist control box. For correct supply, it is useful to specify the helicopter type, LPG-150M system configuration, condition, connector configuration, availability of built-in circuit breakers, emergency switch condition, documentation requirements and whether the unit is required separately or as part of the complete LPG-150M hoist set.
