Function in the KURS MP-2 system

Amplifies the electrical signals that directly drive the bearing pointers and magnetic-course scale of the IKU-1A indicator. Indicator-drive amplification between navigation/course signal sources and IKU-1A. Serviceability is evaluated in the installed signal chain, including power, antenna feeders, inputs, outputs and connected indications.

Exact electrical tolerances, test points and adjustment procedures must be taken from the product passport and approved maintenance documentation. Applying power or connecting a unit by analogy with a similar model can damage the equipment and produce misleading test results.

Interaction with related units

The closest functional connections for BUP-3 are IKU-1A, UN-2P and KRP-200P. Each unit performs a separate task. Their presentation as related products identifies a shared system context and does not mean that they are substitutes for one another.

Before replacement, technicians compare the markings of all connected units, connector pinning, monoblock configuration and the wiring diagram for the particular aircraft. A replacement unit may be supplied without cables, shock mount, mating connectors or other installation accessories.

Installation and aircraft context

Two units in the complete aircraft installation, one for each half-set. KURS MP-2 installations are documented on the Antonov An-26 and Ilyushin Il-76. Application of BUP-3 to another aircraft type, series or modification must be confirmed against its equipment list and approved technical documentation.

Incoming inspection normally includes verification of the data plate and examination of the housing, connectors, mounting points and seals. Functional testing and adjustment require the approved procedure and suitable test equipment; appearance alone cannot confirm serviceability.

Identification and ordering BUP-3

An enquiry should state the complete designation, quantity, required condition, delivery scope and required documentation.
