URVK-18K operating purpose
URVK-18K is a cabin ventilation airflow indicator. Indicates the airflow delivered to a pressurized cabin ventilation or conditioning system. It operates inside an aircraft measuring or navigation channel and must be evaluated together with the sensors, computers, power supply and wiring of the exact installation.
A Venturi restriction creates a pressure difference proportional to airflow; the mechanical sensing element converts it into pointer movement. Serviceability of the pointer alone therefore does not validate the complete system. A functional check must also cover input signals, interconnecting lines, associated units and the specified test procedure.

URVK-18K in the associated system
Associated system: Aircraft environmental-control and cabin-pressurization system. Nearest connected equipment: Venturi measuring section, air ducts, mixing valve and cabin ventilation distribution lines. These items form a functional chain but are not automatically included in the delivery set of one indicator.
Documented on the An-26 and in Yak-42 environmental-control documentation; installation values differ by aircraft. Applicability to another aircraft modification must not be inferred from appearance and requires confirmation in the parts catalogue, wiring diagram or maintenance manual.
Indication, power and cockpit installation
Indication range or presentation: Dial scale 1–10 conventional airflow units with 0.2-unit graduations. Power and input channel: Self-powered pneumatic/mechanical indication; no measuring electrical supply is required.
Installation: Cockpit environmental-control panel, connected to the pressure taps of the airflow measuring section. Before fitting, verify the complete designation, series, scale, connector or pressure ports, mounting, housing, glass and nameplate condition. The installed unit is then checked under the procedure for the applicable system and aircraft.
Identification of URVK-18K
The original Soviet/Russian factory designation is Cyrillic: УРВК-18К. The English card uses the consistent Latin transliteration URVK-18K. Similar-looking Cyrillic and Latin characters are not mixed inside the primary designation.
Scale units are system-calibrated conventional values and must not be interpreted as a universal mass- or volume-flow unit. A visually similar instrument, adjacent series or comparable scale does not prove interchangeability. Selection requires a nameplate photograph, exact index, aircraft type, associated system and documentation requirement.
