Description

Three-pointer aircraft indicator UI3-3K

UI3-3K is an electrical three-pointer aircraft indicator used for combined monitoring of engine and transmission parameters. One instrument shows fuel pressure, oil pressure and oil temperature, so the crew can read several related values from a single panel position. This is useful on aircraft and helicopters where cockpit panel space is limited and engine monitoring has to stay grouped. The indicator itself is not a pressure or temperature sensor. It receives signals from remote sensing units installed in the engine, fuel, oil or transmission systems.

UI3-3K pressure and temperature indication

The instrument has three separate indication channels. The fuel pressure channel works with an inductive pressure transmitter installed in the fuel system. The oil pressure channel uses a similar pressure transmitter in the oil circuit. The oil temperature channel works with a temperature receiver installed in the oil system. In operation, each pointer shows its own measured parameter on the front scale. A fault in the indication may come from the indicator, sensor, wiring, connector, power supply or grounding, so the full circuit should be checked before replacing the unit.

UI3-3K with external transmitters and receivers

UI3-3K operates only as part of a complete measuring set. For pressure indication, it is connected to inductive pressure transmitters such as ID, IDT or IMD types, depending on the aircraft documentation. For oil temperature indication, it can work with temperature receivers such as P-1 or P-63. These related components should be matched by the aircraft maintenance manual, because different airframes may use similar indicators with different sensors or scale ranges. A visually similar indicator is not always electrically interchangeable.

Aircraft application of UI3-3K

The UI3-3K indicator is used on aircraft and helicopters where engine and transmission pressure and temperature control is required from the cockpit. Typical applications include Mi-8 and Mi-171 family helicopters. In these installations the instrument is part of the engine monitoring and oil system indication group. It may be installed on the main instrument panel or engine control panel, depending on the cockpit layout. The exact connection and sensor set should be verified against the aircraft wiring diagram and equipment list.

Identification and ordering of UI3-3K

Before ordering UI3-3K, the marking on the instrument should be compared with the aircraft parts catalog, panel layout and wiring documentation. The “K” suffix refers to the version with temporary-action luminous compound for red cockpit lighting. This matters when replacing instruments in panels with specific night lighting requirements. For correct selection, provide the aircraft type, installed sensor types, scale ranges and a photo of the existing indicator if available. The product is also known under alternative designations UI3-3K, UI-3-3K and УИ3-3К.
