GMI-90 is a glass pulse modulator beam tetrode for switching high-voltage pulses in modulator circuits. Its electrical and thermal limits require selection by the complete designation and the documented operating mode.

Construction and cooling
The tube has a glass envelope, a six-pin base, a top anode contact and an indirectly heated oxide cathode. Heater voltage is 23.75–26.25 V and heater current is 6.5–7.8 A. Forced-air cooling is required.
Operating data
Pulse anode current is at least 40 A and maximum anode voltage is 33 kV. Input capacitance is no more than 150 pF, output capacitance no more than 35 pF and transfer capacitance no more than 10 pF.
Selection and pre-installation checks
Approximate dimensions are 250 × 145 mm and mass is about 1.3 kg. The maximum documented pulse duration is 3 μs. Cooling airflow, contact condition and the pulse repetition mode must be checked before installation.
