Purpose and application
GMI-83V is a glass pulse modulator tetrode for high-voltage pulse switching. It is used in pulse modulators and is selected by the complete type designation and the electrical operating mode specified for the equipment.

Construction and cooling
The tube has a glass envelope with a base and an indirectly heated oxide cathode. Heater voltage is 22.5–27.5 V and heater current is 2.25 ± 0.25 A. The documented installation allows natural or forced-air cooling.
Operating data
Pulse anode current is at least 15 A in the rated heater-voltage range and at least 12 A at 22 V heater voltage. Input capacitance is 42.5 ± 12.5 pF, output capacitance 7.5 ± 2.5 pF and transfer capacitance no more than 1 pF.
Selection and pre-installation checks
Approximate dimensions are 145 × 65 mm and mass is about 300 g. Before installation, the base, glass envelope and contacts should be checked, and the pulse duration and repetition mode must be matched to the equipment documentation.
