GMI-46B
Pulse modulator triode with protective grid
Description
Purpose and application
GMI-46B is a metal-ceramic pulse modulator triode with a protective grid. It switches pulse power in modulators used in stationary and mobile radio equipment.
Full descriptionCollapse description
Construction
The tube has an indirectly heated oxide cathode, an external anode and a radial cooling assembly. Heater voltage is 24.7–27.3 V and heater current is 7.6–8.4 A.
Operating data
Rated anode voltage is 3.5 kV. Pulse anode current is at least 50 A, pulse grid current is no more than 7.5 A, input capacitance is no more than 210 pF and output capacitance no more than 30 pF.
Cooling and selection
Forced-air cooling is required. Maximum anode voltage is 30 kV, anode dissipation is 1000 W, maximum pulse duration is 50 μs and mass is approximately 2.9 kg.
Vacuum device construction is outlined in the vacuum tube article. Related products are listed under generator and modulator tubes.
