Purpose and application

GMI-32B-1 is a high-power pulse modulator tetrode for switching pulse power up to 3.6 MW in stationary and mobile radio equipment. It is a distinct execution and must not be selected as GMI-32B solely by a similar designation.

Construction

The metal-glass construction uses an indirectly heated oxide cathode, external finned anode and ceramic insulated terminals. Heater voltage is 24.3–29.7 V; for pulse anode currents above 50 A the lower limit is 25.6 V. Heater current is 10 ± 0.7 A.

Operating data

Pulse anode current is at least 85 A at 24.3 V heater voltage and at least 100 A at 27 V. Input capacitance is 160 pF, output capacitance 26 pF and transfer capacitance no more than 1 pF. Readiness time is no more than three minutes.

Cooling and selection

Forced-air cooling is mandatory, with airflow of at least 110 m³/h for the anode and 30 m³/h for the stem. The maximum anode voltage is 40 kV, maximum anode dissipation is 2 kW and minimum service life is 1000 hours.
