The main task of the ECNG-20-2 is to move fuel through the system at a high flow rate. ECNG-20-2 with hermetic magnetic coupling

A key design feature of the ECNG-20-2 is the hermetic drive arrangement with a magnetic coupling. The pumped medium is isolated from the motor side, while torque is transmitted without a conventional shaft seal passing through the fluid boundary. This design helps reduce leakage risk and improves operational safety when working with flammable aviation fuel. For maintenance, the magnetic coupling and hermetic separation are important points: the unit should be checked not only for electrical performance, but also for integrity of the sealed section and smooth mechanical operation.

ECNG-20-2 and ETM-103 electromagnetic clutch

The ECNG-20-2 is associated with an ETM-103 series electromagnetic clutch. This unit is part of the drive and control arrangement of the pump assembly, depending on the exact execution. Correct operation of the clutch is important for reliable pump engagement and stable rotation. If the pump does not reach the required flow or speed, the cause may be related to motor supply, clutch condition, internal mechanical resistance, bearing condition, line blockage or incorrect installation. For this reason, testing should cover the complete pump assembly rather than only the motor terminals.

Working fluids for the ECNG-20-2 pump

The main working medium for ECNG-20-2 is aviation fuel. In technical descriptions, the pump may also be listed for water and certain neutral or aggressive liquid chemicals, depending on execution and material compatibility. For aviation supply, fuel-system compatibility should be treated as the primary reference unless the equipment documentation clearly confirms use with another liquid. When the pump is ordered for a non-fuel application, the working medium must be specified in advance to avoid material incompatibility, seal damage or incorrect performance.

Application of ECNG-20-2 on aircraft

The ECNG-20-2 is used in aircraft fuel and special fluid systems depending on the aircraft configuration. It is associated with applications on aircraft such as Tu-22M3 and Il-76MD-90A, subject to the exact equipment list and system documentation. Since hermetic electric centrifugal pumps can be installed in different roles, the designation alone is not enough to confirm installation. The aircraft parts catalog, maintenance manual and system diagram should be checked before replacement or procurement.

Inspection and supply of ECNG-20-2

For procurement, the full designation ECNG-20-2 should be used. The pump may be supplied new, from storage, repaired, overhauled or tested serviceable depending on availability. Before installation, it should be checked for housing condition, connector condition, rotation, signs of corrosion, integrity of the sealed section, clutch condition, inlet and outlet cleanliness and documentation. For aircraft use, passport, quality documents, repair records or bench-test data should be confirmed where available.
