The ECN-11A2 is an electrically driven centrifugal pump of monoblock design. It is used for pumping aviation fuels and petroleum products in aircraft-related ground equipment, fuel transfer systems and mobile service units. The pump works with light and dark petroleum products, including aviation fuel grades used in Soviet and Russian aviation service. In practical use, the ECN-11A2 is not a small onboard booster pump, but a higher-capacity electric pump intended for fuel movement in ground and support systems.
The main function of the ECN-11A2 is to provide high-volume fuel delivery through fuel transfer, filling or service lines. The pump can operate in different motor modes, which affects flow rate, current consumption and developed head. Current consumption changes noticeably between these modes, so wiring, contactors, protection devices and the power source must be suitable for the selected operating regime. A weak power supply or poor contact can reduce pump performance even if the mechanical section is serviceable.
The ECN-11A2 has several operating regimes. In reduced mode, the pump provides lower fuel delivery with lower current draw. In the main mode, it reaches the rated high-flow delivery used for normal operation. In forced mode, the pump can work against higher hydraulic resistance, with flow and head depending on system pressure. This matters when selecting the pump for a stand, refueling unit or mobile fuel-service system. The actual operating point is defined not only by the pump, but also by hose length, filters, valves, elevation and line resistance.
