The ECN-104V is a compact electrically driven centrifugal pump designed for the transfer and circulation of clean water and other compatible liquid media. It was developed for special equipment, aviation systems and marine applications where a small DC electric pump is required. The unit is built as a monoblock assembly with an integrated D-100S3 DC electric motor. Unlike aircraft fuel pumps of the ECN family, this version is mainly associated with water systems, cooling circuits and service-water supply systems rather than kerosene transfer.
The ECN-104V is used where a stable low-pressure flow of liquid is required. In aircraft applications, it may operate in domestic water systems, supplying water to galley areas, washbasins and sanitary equipment. In marine or special equipment use, the pump can be applied in fresh-water, process-water or seawater circuits, including circulation and transfer tasks. The pump is not designed as a high-pressure unit. Its role is to provide compact, reliable liquid movement in auxiliary onboard systems.
On aircraft, the ECN-104V and its base version ECN-104 are associated with service and domestic systems rather than engine fuel feed. These may include water supply lines for buffet / galley equipment, washbasins and sanitary installations. The pump can be found on Soviet-designed civil and transport aircraft, including An-12, An-24, An-30, Il-18, Tu-124, Tu-134 and Yak-40, depending on aircraft configuration. It is also mentioned in connection with Mi-4 helicopter systems. Exact applicability should always be checked by aircraft documentation.
The ECN-104V is also suitable for marine and river-vessel applications where compact DC water pumping is required. Its material design allows operation with fresh water, technical water and seawater, provided the liquid is clean and compatible with the pump materials. The use of corrosion-resistant copper alloy materials, such as bronze or brass, improves resistance to salts and alkaline exposure. This makes the pump useful in closed circulation loops, service-water systems and auxiliary water-transfer circuits of special equipment.
The ECN-104V is made as a compact monoblock assembly. The centrifugal pump section and the D-100S3 DC electric motor are combined in one unit, which simplifies installation and replacement. The pump is small enough for use in equipment bays, service compartments or limited-space installations. Before installation, the mounting points, inlet and outlet connections, electrical terminals, housing condition and rotation should be checked. Since the pump often works in water-service systems, corrosion, deposits and long-term storage condition are important inspection points.
The ECN-104V operates from a 27 V DC electrical supply. The motor drives the centrifugal impeller at high rotational speed and provides the required liquid flow and pressure rise. Correct electrical performance depends on stable voltage, clean contacts, normal current draw and free rotation of the pump assembly. A pump may appear visually serviceable but still fail under load if the impeller is worn, the internal passages are blocked, the motor is weak or corrosion has affected the hydraulic section.
The ECN-104V is related to the base ECN-104 pump, but the versions should not be treated as automatically interchangeable. The “V” modification has its own dimensional layout and may differ by installation geometry, housing execution or system application. The ECN-104V dimensions are larger in some directions compared with the base ECN-104 reference dimensions. When replacing the pump, the exact designation, installation space, connection points and aircraft or vessel documentation should be checked before supply.
For procurement, the pump should be requested by its full designation ECN-104V / ЭЦН-104В. It is useful to confirm the required condition, application, liquid medium and available documentation in advance. The unit may be supplied new, from storage, repaired, overhauled or tested serviceable depending on availability. Before installation, the pump should be checked for flow rate, pressure rise, current consumption, motor operation, leakage, corrosion, inlet / outlet cleanliness and compatibility with the target system.
