Air pressure receiver PVD-7 is designed to sense in flight the static pressure of the air surrounding the aircraft and the total pressure of the oncoming air flow generated during the movement of the aircraft. To perceive the total air pressure in the PVD-7 receiver, full braking of the oncoming air flow at the end of the receiver tip is used. In this case, the energy of air movement is converted into excess dynamic pressure, which characterizes the speed of the oncoming air flow and, consequently, the speed of the aircraft. Receiver PVD-7 is a tube with an inlet that receives full pressure.

PVD-7: purpose and identification

PVD-7 is a Pitot-Static Probe that senses the documented total- and static-pressure channels. The exact execution is determined by the complete marking, series and documentation. A similar housing, common opening characters or a related function does not establish matching ratings.

Function in the measurement system

The item senses the documented total- and static-pressure channels. Reject or investigate cracks, deformation, corrosion, contaminated passages and damaged contacts. Test the unit under the approved procedure for the exact execution.

After installation, check line tightness or electrical continuity, routing of pressure lines and wiring, and then perform the prescribed functional test. External integrity alone does not establish measurement accuracy. Assign an aircraft application only when supported by a passport, illustrated parts catalogue or maintenance document.
