BTT-120 differential-protection role
In a typical high-power aircraft generator channel, current-transformer blocks are installed at different points of the phase conductors. Their secondary signals are compared by the protection equipment. A current difference above the permitted threshold indicates a fault in the protected generator or feeder zone and causes the generator channel to be disconnected.
The block may also participate in current regulation and load-sharing circuits, depending on the exact aircraft system. Phase assignment, conductor direction and mounting orientation are functional parameters, not merely installation details.
BTT-120 generator-channel data
The associated GT-120PCh6 generator family is a 120 kVA, 208/120 V, 400 Hz source. The corresponding rated phase current is approximately 333 A. These values describe the electrical channel for which BTT-120-family blocks are documented; the transformer ratio, winding resistance, insulation limits and exact connector data must be taken from the passport for the specific suffix.
