The 2.240.000-1 antenna matching unit is a key component of the ARK-15 and ARK-15M automatic radio compass systems. It is designed to match the electrical parameters of the non-directional aircraft antenna with the receiver input. The unit ensures stable signal transmission and minimizes losses in the antenna-feeder system, enabling reliable radio navigation performance.
The unit transforms the high impedance of the external non-directional antenna into a level suitable for the receiver input circuits. Using inductive and capacitive elements, it performs impedance and phase matching of the signal. This ensures correct interaction between loop and non-directional antenna channels, eliminating bearing ambiguity and improving accuracy.
The unit is used in aircraft and helicopter navigation systems equipped with ARK-15 or ARK-15M radio compasses. It is installed on platforms such as Mi-8, Mi-17, Tu-154, Il-76, An-24/26 and Yak series aircraft. Within the system, it plays a critical role in maintaining signal quality and ensuring correct operation of direction finding modes.
The antenna matching unit is installed close to the antenna feeder entry point to minimize cable influence on signal characteristics.
