Description

MSTV-2.5S in aircraft pressure monitoring systems

The MSTV-2.5S is a heat-resistant and vibration-resistant aircraft pressure switch designed to monitor preset excess pressure in onboard systems. It opens or closes an electrical circuit when the pressure of the working medium reaches the specified threshold. The unit is used in aircraft hydraulic, pneumatic and other pressure-controlled circuits where a simple discrete signal is required for indication, protection or control logic.

Pressure switching function of MSTV-2.5S

The MSTV-2.5S does not provide continuous analog pressure measurement. Its function is threshold signaling. When the pressure reaches the preset actuation value, the internal mechanism changes the state of the electrical contacts. This signal can be used by cockpit indication, warning circuits, protection systems or automatic control equipment. In practical operation, the switch confirms that pressure has reached the required level or that a pressure-related condition has occurred.

MSTV-2.5S in hydraulic and pneumatic systems

The pressure switch is applied in aviation hydraulic and pneumatic systems on helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft. It may be installed in pressure monitoring lines, protection circuits, control chains or system-status indication channels. The MSTV-2.5S is associated with Mi-8, Mi-17, Ka-32 and Tu-154B applications, depending on aircraft configuration. The exact installation point, thread, connector and contact logic must be checked by the aircraft maintenance documentation.

Working media for MSTV-2.5S

The MSTV-2.5S can work with neutral liquids and gases, including NGZh hydraulic fluid and MS-8RK oil according to supplied reference data. This allows the unit to be used in several aircraft systems, but compatibility should still be confirmed for the exact installation. The pressure port, seals and internal parts must be suitable for the working medium. A unit previously used in one system should not be installed in another medium without inspection and approval.

Heat-resistant design of the MSTV-2.5S

The MSTV-2.5S is designed for operation over a wide temperature range, which allows it to be used in demanding aircraft environments. Heat resistance is important for systems located near engines, hydraulic units, oil lines or heated equipment bays. The unit is also vibration-resistant and suitable for helicopter operation, where vibration loads can be severe. Before installation, the housing, connector, pressure fitting, thread and contact condition should be inspected carefully.

MSTV-2.5S and related MST pressure switches

The designation MSTV-2.5S identifies a pressure switch with a specific actuation pressure and execution. Similar units may be marked as MST-2.5S or appear in Cyrillic documentation as МСТВ-2,5С. However, similar-looking pressure switches may differ by pressure setting, maximum pressure, connector type, thermal execution, thread, contact arrangement or approved working medium. For replacement, the full designation and aircraft documentation should be checked, not only the general series name.

Supply and inspection of MSTV-2.5S

For procurement or replacement, the full designation MSTV-2.5S / МСТВ-2,5С should be specified. Before installation, the switch should be checked for marking, housing condition, pressure port cleanliness, thread condition, connector integrity, contact switching at the set pressure and compatibility with the aircraft system. Since this is a pressure-controlled electrical device, both pneumatic / hydraulic and electrical checks are required. Product passport and official technical documentation should be confirmed where available.
