Description

ADIS-2-3 accelerometer in flight data systems

The ADIS-2-3 is a single-axis compensated aircraft accelerometer used for measuring linear normal acceleration during flight, takeoff and landing operation. The sensor is installed in onboard measurement, recording and data-processing systems where acceleration data must be continuously captured and converted into an electrical signal. In aircraft operation, the ADIS-2-3 is used as a precision measurement unit, so correct installation axis, calibration condition and compatibility with the recording system are important.

Normal acceleration measurement by ADIS-2-3

The main function of the ADIS-2-3 is to measure normal acceleration along one defined aircraft axis, typically the vertical load-factor channel. The unit senses inertial effects acting on the aircraft structure and converts them into an electrical signal proportional to the measured acceleration. This signal is then used by onboard flight data acquisition and recording equipment. The ADIS-2-3 is suitable for monitoring aircraft load conditions in normal flight and during takeoff and landing regimes.

Compensated sensing principle of ADIS-2-3

The ADIS-2-3 uses a compensated measurement principle with a magnetoelectric sensing element. Mechanical acceleration is converted into an electrical signal without direct contact in the sensing process. The compensated design helps maintain measurement stability and accuracy over the operating range. Since this is a measuring instrument, external condition alone is not enough to confirm serviceability. The unit must be checked for output response, measurement accuracy, power supply behavior and compliance with the required technical documentation.

ADIS-2-3 in onboard recording equipment

The accelerometer is used in onboard flight information recording and processing systems, including systems such as MSRP and BUR-SL-1 depending on aircraft configuration. It may be installed on civil, transport and military aircraft where a linear acceleration channel is required. The ADIS-2-3 is associated with platforms such as Il-76TD and Mi-171E, as well as other aircraft equipped with compatible flight data recording systems. Exact applicability should be checked by aircraft equipment list and system documentation.

ADIS-2-3 and related ADIS-2 versions

The ADIS-2 family includes several single-axis accelerometers with different measurement ranges. The ADIS-2-3 version is intended for a wider normal acceleration range than ADIS-2-1 and ADIS-2-2. Other versions, such as ADIS-2-4, cover a different upper acceleration limit. For replacement, the full designation ADIS-2-3 must be respected. A visually similar ADIS-2 unit should not be installed as a substitute without checking the acceleration range, output characteristics, documentation and compatibility with the onboard recording channel.

Supply and inspection of ADIS-2-3

For procurement, the product should be specified by the full designation ADIS-2-3 / АДИС-2-3. The unit may be supplied as new, from storage, after inspection or with verification depending on availability. For aviation use, manufacturer passport, acceptance documents or official technical documentation should be confirmed. Before installation, the accelerometer should be checked for marking, housing condition, connector condition, calibration or verification status, electrical output and compatibility with the aircraft flight data system.
