TUE-48 is a universal electric thermometer designed for remote measurement of working fluid and air temperatures. The instrument is used in aviation, armored vehicles, special-purpose equipment and other transport systems where temperature must be indicated at a distance from the sensing point. In aircraft applications, it can be used for oil temperature, coolant temperature or carburetor air temperature monitoring, depending on the installed receiver and system configuration.
The thermometer operates with a remote temperature receiver installed at the measurement point. As the temperature changes, the resistance of the heat-sensitive element in the receiver changes. The TUE-48 measuring instrument responds to this resistance change and displays the corresponding temperature value on the scale. The system is not based on a thermocouple signal. It uses a magnetoelectric ratiometer principle, which makes correct matching between the indicator and receiver important for accurate indication.
A standard TUE-48 set usually includes one cockpit or panel indicator and one temperature receiver, such as P-1 or P-1V. The receiver is installed in the controlled medium, while the indicator is mounted on the instrument panel or equipment panel. The receiver and indicator must correspond to the same measuring range and electrical characteristic. If the indication is incorrect, the check should include the receiver, indicator, wiring, connector, supply voltage and grounding.
TUE-48 is used in aircraft and other vehicles where liquid or air temperature must be monitored remotely. In aviation applications, it may be installed in engine oil systems, cooling circuits or air intake / carburetor temperature control circuits, depending on the aircraft configuration. Exact applicability depends on the aircraft type, engine system and installed receiver. Similar thermometers may differ by measuring range, receiver type, scale marking or technical specification, so replacement should be confirmed by documentation.
Before ordering, the full designation and set composition should be checked against the product passport, technical specification or equipment documentation. The standard supply set may include the TUE-48 indicator, a P-1 or P-1V receiver, a three-pin plug and passport documentation. Operating manuals and verification procedures may be supplied separately for a batch of instruments. The product is also known under alternative designations TUE-48, TUE-48-T and ТУЭ-48.
