temperature receiver
P-77 Version 2 is an aircraft temperature receiver used for measuring the temperature of liquids and gases in engine and aircraft system circuits. The receiver is installed at the temperature measurement point and converts temperature changes into changes of electrical resistance. This signal is then used by the associated indication or monitoring equipment. In engine applications, the unit may be installed on the engine accessory gearbox and used for oil temperature measurement at inlet and outlet points.
The receiver operates as a resistance temperature sensing element. When the temperature of the measured medium changes, the resistance of the sensitive element changes as well. The connected aircraft instrument reads this resistance change and displays or processes the temperature value. The receiver does not provide visual indication by itself and does not control oil, fuel or gas flow. Its function is to provide a stable temperature signal for the aircraft temperature measuring circuit.
The sensitive element of the receiver is made from platinum wire wound on mica plates. The mica structure provides electrical insulation and mechanical support for the winding. The plates are clamped with spring plates and protected inside the receiver body. This construction gives the unit stable resistance characteristics and allows it to work in aviation environments with vibration and temperature changes. The receiver is made as a one-piece component, with a plug used for connection to the external circuit.
P-77 Version 2 is used in aircraft systems where the temperature of oil, liquids or gases must be monitored. In engine installations, it is commonly associated with oil temperature measurement at the inlet and outlet of the engine unit box or related oil circuits. Exact applicability depends on the aircraft type, engine configuration and installed temperature indication system. Before replacement, the measuring range, resistance characteristic, mounting position and connector type should be checked against the technical documentation.
Before ordering, the full designation should be verified, including the version number. P-77 Version 2 may look similar to other temperature receivers but differ by resistance characteristic, installation length, connector arrangement or approved temperature range. For correct selection, provide the aircraft type, engine type, installation point, existing receiver marking and a photo of the unit or passport entry if available. The product is also known under alternative designations P-77 Version 2 and П-77 вариант 2.
