IP21-15 position indicator for aircraft systems

IP21-15 is an aircraft position indicator used for visual monitoring of movable mechanical elements. The instrument receives a remote position signal and displays the position or angular displacement on a cockpit scale. It is used in onboard indication systems where the crew needs a direct visual reference for the condition of controlled aircraft mechanisms. Depending on the installed stencil and system configuration, the indicator may be used for rotor pitch indication or for other position-control circuits.

Remote indication through IP21-15

The instrument operates as part of a remote selsyn-type measuring system. In this arrangement, a transmitter installed near the monitored mechanism sends position data electrically to the cockpit indicator. The indicator then converts the received signal into pointer movement on the scale. This allows the crew or maintenance personnel to monitor the position of a mechanism without direct mechanical linkage to the cockpit. The unit is an indicating instrument, not an actuator or control drive.

IP21-15 with DS-type position transmitters

The indicator is used together with specialized selsyn transmitters, including DS-type units such as DS-11 or DS-P depending on the aircraft configuration. The transmitter and indicator must be matched according to the system documentation. A mismatch in transmitter type, scale stencil or wiring can lead to incorrect readings. During troubleshooting, the check should include the indicator, transmitter, aircraft wiring, power supply and mechanical linkage at the monitored unit.

Aircraft application of IP21-15

IP21-15 is used on civil and military aircraft equipment, including Mi-8, Mi-17 and Mi-171E family helicopters. In helicopter applications, it may be associated with the UP21-15 position or rotor pitch indication system. Exact use depends on the aircraft modification and installed cockpit panel layout. Similar instruments may have different scales, lighting arrangements or connection schemes, so applicability should be confirmed through the aircraft parts catalog or technical documentation.

It is important to confirm the required scale, lighting voltage, associated transmitter type and cockpit installation position. For correct selection, provide the aircraft type, system designation, existing instrument marking and a photo of the data plate or front scale. Returns & Changes (Restocking Fee)
For selected items, a RESTOCKING FEE of 10% may apply in case of return, order cancellation, or changes to the order specifications. This condition applies only to certain products and is confirmed at the order approval stage.
