MP-100M Series 2 linear actuator in aircraft systems

The MP-100M Series 2 is an electromechanical linear actuator used where a mechanism needs controlled translational movement of a rod. It converts electrical power into mechanical motion and moves the connected unit through a defined stroke. This is not a hydraulic actuator and it does not use pressure from the aircraft hydraulic system. The actuator is driven by its electric motor and is installed in systems where a compact, electrically controlled linear movement is required.

In operation, MP-100M Series 2 moves the output rod under load after receiving electrical power from the onboard circuit. It should be checked not only as an electric unit but also as a mechanical assembly: rod travel, load condition, limit positions, motor current, and linkage freedom all matter.

SPUU-52 system work with MP-100M Series 2

The MP-100M Series 2 is known from the SPUU-52 movable control stop system used on Mi-8 family helicopters. In that system, the actuator moves the mechanical stop after receiving a command from the SPUU control chain. Technical descriptions of SPUU-52 mention the MP-100M Series 2 together with the movable stop mechanism, rocker, spring stop, microswitch, feedback sensor, and connecting rod. If the stop does not move correctly, the cause may be in the actuator, wiring, control unit, feedback signal, or the mechanical linkage.

Aircraft and ground use of actuator MP-100M Series 2

The actuator is used in aviation systems, including Mi-8 family helicopter control systems, and can also be applied in ground equipment where reliable linear motion is required. In helicopter use, the exact installation depends on the control system and the aircraft configuration. A similar MP-series actuator may have a different load rating, stroke, speed, current consumption, or mounting size. For replacement, the installed marking and system documentation are more reliable than visual similarity.

Before ordering, the marking on the installed actuator should be compared with the aircraft parts catalog, system manual, or product passport. In English-language documents, the unit may appear as MP-100M Series 2 or MP-100M. In Russian documentation, the same item is written as МП-100М 2 серии. A clear request should include the equipment type, system name, installation location, full designation, and a photo of the marking if available. The product is also known under alternative designation МП-100М.
